Unreliable Power Supply
Many areas in Port Elizabeth face constant power outages because of poorly maintained municipal and Eskom infrastructure. Often, simple maintenance could prevent these problems — such as clearing vegetation around power lines, inspecting cables that overheat, and stopping animals or insects from nesting on equipment.
When cables are damaged or tampered with, they can cause fires, electrocution, or long-term blackouts. These risks endanger homes, families, and businesses. Our NPO steps in to monitor, report, and push for early maintenance to keep the lights on and the community safe.
Fires, missing persons, and unsafe public spaces — including beaches — threaten the well-being of residents and visitors. We believe every second counts when lives are at risk.
We help by supporting local fire departments to control fires before they spread too far, reducing the chances of homes being destroyed.
We assist the police force by encouraging the use of new technologies — like drones — to better monitor and respond to dangerous situations, helping make our communities safer.
And when someone goes missing, our infrared camera systems allow search-and-rescue teams to locate people even at night or in difficult terrain.
We also keep watch over beaches and coastlines to prevent illegal dumping and pollution that harm our ocean life — a recurring problem that needs active community involvement.
We focus on protecting the community by:
Accountability for Infrastructure: Monitoring and reporting neglected power infrastructure, engaging with authorities, and keeping pressure on Eskom and the municipality to take action.
Support for Emergency Services: Assisting fire departments, the police force, and search-and-rescue teams by providing monitoring, resources, and public awareness.
Beachfront & Public Safety Monitoring: Watching over beaches and other high-risk areas to help prevent drownings, illegal activities, and to ensure quick response when emergencies arise.
Your contributions enable us to:
Fund community-driven monitoring and reporting initiatives.
Support emergency services with resources and technology.
Cover operational costs for awareness campaigns and community response programs.
Ensure that vulnerable areas — from neighborhoods to beachfronts — are not left unprotected.
Together, we can hold authorities accountable, support emergency services, and create a safer environment for everyone.
